Salt Lamp Care
DO
Leave on as long as possible. The heat
generated will keep creating negative ions and
will stop water from collecting on the surface.
Wipe clean with a damp (not soaked) cloth or sponge. Leave lamp on to dry.
Cover lamp with a plastic bag if it is going to be switched off for any period of time. Without the heat from the bulb, water will start to accumulate.
Brush off clumped salt crystals if they begin forming (if you don’t like them. Some people do). If you want to sprinkle this salt on your fish & chips that’s ok.
Turn off at wall before changing bulb to avoid electric shocks.

DON'T
Place on unstable surfaces. Salt lamps are
heavy. If they fall on you they will hurt.
Place salt lamps next to the bath (except tea light lamps). They may be relaxing, but if they fall in they will electrocute you.
Leave cable anywhere they may cause a trip hazard.
Place directly on top of computers, monitors or any electrical device. Nearby is ok.
Place directly on wooden surfaces without a protective plate or similar beneath.
Be mad at pets for enjoying your salt lamp too.

Salt Lamp FAQs
1Will my salt lamp get smaller or used up over time?
No, salt lamps never shrink or deplete their negative ionizing
power.
2Should I leave my salt lamp on all the time?
The longer you leave it on, the better. This is because the heat
generated by the bulb enhances the ionizing effect.
3Will my electricity bill go up if I leave these on all the time?
All lamps come supplied with a 15w bulb, which uses only a
tiny amount of power. Even with several on at all times, the
difference will be negligible.
4My lamp keeps forming crystals, what do I do?
Simply brush off excess salt and move the lamp to a less
humid place. The crystals are forming because of excess
moisture, so ensure lamp is left on as long as possible.
5Can I leave them on overnight while I sleep?
Absolutely! The negative ions produced have been proven to
give deeper, more restful sleep, and have even been found to
help with snoring! The warm glow from the lamps is subtle
enough that it should not interfere with a good nights rest.
6How many salt lamps do I need to enjoy the most benefits?
We recommend at least one in every room you spend time in.
Our lamps come in different sizes, bigger rooms require
bigger lamps or several smaller ones for optimum ionization.
If in doubt, please feel free to call one of our consultants who
will help you find the best solution for your needs.
7Where does the salt come from?
It is mined from the foothills of the Himalayas, mostly from
Pakistan. It was once an ancient sea, dried out by time and
the sun, and is some of the purest salt on earth.
8Do you use child labour?
No, all workers at the mines are adults paid fair wages at or
above the median wage for manual workers in that country.
9Why are your salt lamps cheaper than everywhere else?
At Himalayan Rock Salts we sell direct to homes, businesses and large
corporations, we do not pay expensive shop rents and we
keep our overheads to a minimum, so we can pass our
savings on to you.
